Google as a search engine surely has a world wide audience and this particular search engine is used three times more than any other in the current internet market. This being the case Google Canada was not much popular until recent times.

This could either be attributed to the less usage of the internet or to the fact that people did not know how such search engines worked.

Immaterial of what had happened in the past, Canada as a whole has come to understand the use of this particular search engine and the usage of the same is on the rise exponentially. Google Canada has now made the lives of thousands of Canadians easy since all they have to do is sit at home and find what they want to online.

E-Commerce has been lagging in Canada and Google, the search engine giant, is planning to help out with this issue. The company wants to bolster its business, sales, and brand in the North Country and Chris O'Neill, the new head of Google Canada, stated, "The message is very clear: invest for growth in Canada." This is the main focus of this brand building approach and Google is throwing its name in the ring and hoping that it's on the ground floor of an untapped market.
Google already has about 150 employees in different offices in Canada such as: Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and other regions. Google, headed by O'Neill, still isn't quite sure how many jobs they'll be adding to different markets around Canada but it's likely that they're going to do a lot of team building. Google will like by looking for web engineering, sales, and other marketing professionals. O'Neill stated, "A big part of my job will be to hire all-star players." He's looking forward to the task as a native Canadian himself who plans to base most of his business out of Toronto.
This new step by likely to garner a lot of attention and it's the hope that these steps will help a Canadian industry that has seen its fair share of job loss and unemployment. It's the hope that these incoming jobs will create others and enforce an online industry that is more than ready and with the people to fill it. Canada already has a competitive standard of living that has encouraged many people to relocate there. Some people even live in the outlying areas and commute in. Many use Toronto self storage to house their possessions seasonally. It's unclear though as to how substantial an affect this move by Google will have.
The affect is likely to be substantial. Presently, Canadian retailers are using e-commerce but many of their web sites are generating an unsatisfying five percent of total retail sales. This is in a market where many businesses are beginning to match or surpass their actual sales. It seems that both Canada and Google are excited by the possibility of joining forces. Canada with it's buying power and Google with its online expertise. Google is likely to provide not only the advertising, but the business applications and its massive social media muscle behind this venture. As everything else, it's likely to be very successful and bolster sales and create jobs, which is a win-win situation for everyone involved. However it's not clear as to what kind of profit Google stands to make off of this deal.
